Stress and Neurologically Based Chiropractic Care

Generally when we feel overwhelmed or overloaded with tasks, we use the term “stress.” Stress is not always felt, how you feel is a poor indicator of health.  Anything that poses a challenge or a threat to our wellbeing is a stress, and “stressors” are agents or catalysts that cause the stress to occur. Symptoms usually include rise in blood pressure or heart rate, rapid breathing, increased muscle tension, anxiety, sweaty and cold hands/feet, and increased stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline remaining in the bloodstream.

Warning signs and symptoms of stress include memory problems, inability to concentrate, moodiness and irritability, agitation, depression, aches and pains, loss of sex drive, eating more or less, sleeping to much or too little, isolating oneself, and more.

How Neurologically Based Chiropractic Care Can Help with Stress

On a simple level, the brain and nervous system are strongly affected by stress. We find that many people are stuck in the “fight or flight” response based on the testing we do (see HERE).  Neurologically Based Chiropractic Care interrupts the patterns that keep us “stuck in stress” and help our brains build new neural pathways – allowing the body to heal itself properly and thus helping the way our bodies individually recover from everyday stress.
