What is Koren Specific Technique?

Koren Specific Technique (KST for short) is a revolutionary chiropractic adjusting technique that provides our practice members with efficient and lasting results. Discovered by Dr. Tedd Koren in 2003, this technique is gentle yet very powerful.

Using an adjusting instrument called an ArthroStim that allows for precise and specific adjusting, there is no twisting, cracking, or popping. All ages benefit from KST chiropractic care from newborn to elderly and everyone in between. Because of the neurological (brain-based) nature of the post-doctoral study our doctor has pursued, he has found that KST chiropractic is the perfect way to “ask the body” what needs correction, which honors the wisdom of the brain and nervous system by never doing too much or too little.

See Dr. Pat correcting subluxations and neurological patterns while a practice member explains some of the great changes he has had while under the care of Dr. Keiran.

What to Expect When You Visit Our Offices

What to Expect when starting Neurologically based Chiropractic Care in our office.

We want you to feel comfortable with the decision to join our practice.  Please read the following information and if you still have any questions, please call our office for an answer.

New Patient Forms: Completing the New Patient Forms before your first visit will save time and allow us to see you right on time.  New patients often comment on how “welcoming” our offices are. That’s great, because our goal is to offer state of the art chiropractic care in comfortable surroundings.  Welcome to our family practice!

Consultation:  During the Initial Health Consultation, Dr. Pat will listen to your history. Please share your story and what you believe is preventing you from living your life to the fullest.  We hope to help you express a life without limitations.

Examination:  Our offices use the NeuroInfiniti Stress Response Evaluation to ensure you and your loved ones are getting the most out of your care and the most out of life.  This computerized evaluation is a completely non-invasive stress response scan.  The technology helps us assess your brain and nervous system by measuring your brain and body’s physiological response to stress.  A computerized scan of your feet may also be taken while you stand to identify any structural imbalances.

X-rays: The doctors will determine if x-rays are necessary.

Plan to spend approximately an hour in either office during the initial exam.

Stress-response-exam-keiran-chiro1Report of Findings:  You will be scheduled for your Report of Findings within a few days of your initial visit, at which point we will share the results that we found with you.  You may invite anyone in your family to accompany you, if you choose.  The Report of Findings includes a detailed analysis of what you need in order to solve the problem that brought you into our office and what can be done in order to assure that it won’t happen again.  We consider your goals for the future, current lifestyle choices and challenges that are standing in your way.  This is why our recommendations are extremely thorough and have the chance to be the solution you are seeking.

Ongoing: Our entire staff strives to keep waiting times to a minimum so we ask that all practice members be prompt for their appointments so we can stay on track.  The doctor offers educational classes and workshops (SEE HERE) that you are invited to attend. Questions are welcomed and encouraged- we feel that knowledge is power.

Using the Stress Response Evaluation Dr. Pat will customize and track your progress.  The foundation for building overall health is based on your current brain and nervous system balance, nutritious food, regular exercise, avoiding toxins and a variety of stress relief techniques.

We look forward to working with you and your family to maximize your potential. Simply add your thoughts, name, and contact info in the form below and someone from our team will contact you to set up your appointment!

Sciatica and KST Chiropractic Care

Sciatica, or sciatic neuritis, is a distracting pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve – beginning in the lower back and extending down one or both legs.

Symptoms of sciatica may include lower back pain, buttock pain, numbness or weakness in various parts of the leg and foot, and a shooting pain making it difficult to walk or stand up. The level of pain varies from person to person – from infrequent and irritating to quite severe and debilitating. Simple movements such as coughing or sneezing can lead to excruciating pain for some people dealing with sciatica.

Why Does Sciatic Pain Occur?

Sciatica symptoms occur when the large sciatic nerve is irritated. The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the body, made up of isolated nerve roots that branch out from the spine in the lower back. When the nerve becomes irritated, swollen or frayed, sciatica is likely to occur.

How KST Chiropractic Can Help Relieve Sciatica

KST Chiropractic adjustments are gentle and effective, addressing the area of concern in short order.  A visit to our office can also help assess the nature of the mis-communication in the body, which is frequently stress related.  Dr. Pat has a proven track record for helping patients recover from sciatica and he teaches strategies for avoiding the problem in the future.
